Qualitative Info

Representatives of Popular Orthodox Alert (LAOS), which participates in the coalition government since November 2011, have repeatedly expressed racist/xenophobic and antisemitic views.

Although the two major parties (PASOK and Nea Dimokratia) had in the past and stil host members with nationalist views, a certain attention is paid when it comes to these issues.

For an apprehensive overview of hate/racist-xenophobic discourse in the political sphere, see Pavlou M., Prearis K. (2010), RAXEN Thematic Study: Racist and related hate crimes in the EU - Greece, HLHR-KEMO/i-RED.
