Golden Dawn is a far-right party of neonazi inspiration, often expressing admiration of Nazi figures and period. It is led by Nikolaos Mihaliliakos. It increased rapidly its political profile by receiving almost 7% of the popular vote in the consecutive May and June Elections in Greece. It is represented in the 2012 Parliament with 18 seats (out of 300). Racist violence against migrants and minorities by black dressed extremist groups has escalated in Greece after the Golden Dawn’s electoral success
