Solo ciudadanos de la U.E. y los siguientes paises (habiendo residido de forma legal en España al menos 5 años excepto los Noruegos a los cuales se exige 3 años) Noruega, Ecuador, Nueva Zelanda, Colombia, Chile, Perú, Paraguay, Islandia, Bolivia y Cabo Verde.

More than 1000 candidates stood for general,regional and local elections only among the two biggest political parties in Spain (May 2011). In 2010 Spain had  had two mayor, 85 foreign town councillors, the mayority of those were British and German.
