After some confrontations in the tier and a baton charge, the French club reported that the Atletic fans were intoning racist songs. The Control and Discipline Commission of the UEFA penalized the Spanish club with the closing of its playing field for two matches and a 150,000 euros penalty, for "the disproportionate behaviour” of the police and "the racist and antidemocratic songs and symbols” in the tier.
