It must be noted that the level of migration in Romania is generally low, with 57,211 foreigners with a legal stay, out of which only 10,280 had a permanent stay (2,640 from China, 2,112 from Turkey and 973 from Syria) on 30.11.2011 according to the Romanian Immigration Office.
