The Romanian Anti-discrimination Law applies to all the human rights and fundamental freedoms recognized by the law, in the domain of politics, economy, society, culture or in any other domain of public life. The law prescribes for two exceptions in accordance with the EU Directive 2000/43/EC - genuine and determining occupational requirements (Art.9 of the Governmental Ordinance No.137 of 31 August 2000 on preventing and sanctioning all forms of discrimination, republished with amendments in the Official Journal No.99 of 8 February 2007) and positive action (Art.2(9) of the Governmental Ordinance No.137 of 31 August 2000 on preventing and sanctioning all forms of discrimination, republished with amendments in the Official Journal No.99 of 8 February 2007).
