According to a report of the Romanian Office for Immigration, in 2009, almost three quarters of the foreigners with a form of protection lived in Bucharest, the capital city.

Accoding to Address No. 2474295/21.03.2012 of the Romanian Office for Immigration to the Centre for Legal Resources the total number of benneficiaries with declared residence in Bucharest is of 559 and the total number of foreigners with a legal stay in Bucharest at the end of 2011 was 20649 (35 per cent of the total of foreigners with a legal stay in Romania)
