Yes, there is legislation prohibiting the establishment of organisations which promote racial discrimination. Membership of such orgaisations is treated as an offence under the law.

Qualitative Info

Article 240º of the Penal Code sanctions the crime of racial, religious and sexual discrimination. According to the first point of the article «founding or constituting an organization, or developing activities of organized propaganda inciting to discrimination, hate or violence against a person or group of persons on account of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, sex or sexual orientation, or encouraging it», as well as participating, assisting, or financing such activities or organizations, is punished with one to eight years of jail.
