2 764 pupils of Roma origin attended schools in the school-year 2008/2009. It must be mentioned, however, that not all Roma children fulfiled the requirement of compulsory education. According to the data from Ministry of Interior, there were in total 3 369 Roma children who were supposed attend schools in the school-year 2009/2010.
