Short Answer

While the Garda Síochána (Irish Police) deny that this is practiced in any way, research exists to show that there is some evidence that this practice occours in certain settings.

The Migrant Rights Centre of Ireland released a piece of exploratory research in 2011 which documented experiences of ethnic profiling by law enforcement, especially along the border between Northern Ireland and the Republuic of Ireland.
