A law (Law 3467/2006, Art.27, FEK A' 128) was passed by the parliament, abolishing a much criticized provision of an almost a century old law n.1363 of 1938 (article 1), according to which in order to found or build a worship place for any other religion, the Greek Orthodox Church administration should provide its opinion and permission. From now on such application is submitted directly to the Ministry of Education and Religions and not anymore to the Greek Orthodox Church authorities.
