Intended for students not benefiting from a favourable environment to succeed in their studies, the "success-in-education" boarding schools are part of the program "Hope for the Suburbs". The first one opened in 2009-2010, but this measure has reached new proportions with the opening, in September 2010, of eleven new boarding schools. The plan aims at gradually creating a total of 20, 000 places in such schools. Each motivated student who does not benefit from a favourable environment to study can ask (or be advised by his or her teachers) to join one of those boarding schools, where he or she would benefit from a tailored support, new educational methods and extra-curricular activities. He or she would spend the whole week in the school, with other students, rejoining his or her family only during the week-end. These special boarding schools are proposed from the first form  to higher education level.
