The Muslim side of the military cemetery of Notre-Dame-de-Lorette was found defaced by Nazi symbols.

Two young men (18 and 21) and a minor confessed to have committed the offence. “The alleged culprits were driven by the Nazi ideology; one of them declared Hitler to be his idol.” The three men were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the events.

On May 9, 2007, the Criminal Court of Arras sentenced two of the culprits to one year of prison for “severe defacement committed by a limited number of people for racial and religious motives.” The minor was judged by a special children’s court.
