In December 2009 unknown perpetrators vandalised 12 gravestones and a statue in the Jewish cemetery of Székesfehérvár, and painted on the wall of its Memorial Hall the words ‘We don’t need a Jewish Casino.’ This happened a day after a conference was held in the Parliament where Nobel peace prize winner Elie Wiesel was present as a keynote speaker, and spoke about the sweep of extremism a worrisome phemomenon.
