The Legal Counselling Service has been running since 2000.

Its aim is to assist victims of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and victims of homophobic crimes. It provides counselling and legal representation in court cases.

Major areas of activity: workplace discrimination, discrimination in the military, assistance with registered partnership contracts and wills, representation in divorce and child custody cases.

In 2009 and 2010, the Legal Counselling Service was supported by the EEA/Norwegian Financial Mechanism and the Fővárosi Szociális Közalapítvány [Social Public Foundation of Budapest]. Formerly, it was supported by the Open Society Institute.
