A 16-year-old Angolan was a victim of a xenophobic attack in Volkspark Friedrichshain in Berlin on 8 July 2010. While he was sitting on a park bench with friends, an 18-year-old man came up to him out of a group, insulted him because of his skin colour, and shot with a starting pistol at his face. The 16-year-old suffered light injuries to his face and was treated at a clinic. The 18-year old assailant, who ran away with the group, was caught by the police one day after the assault.
