Sejm National and Ethnic Minorities Commission issued the demand concerning education of Roma children to the Prime Minister. The Minister reported also that the Maloposki Voivode requested relevant local authorities to consider dissolution of the Roma classes at school in M. as well as to stop allocating school space only for the Roma. Local authorities conditioned their decision on that matter upon the position of the Roma parents who yet failed to appear at the meeting devoted to the issue. Some weeks later, because of the series of articles on the discrimination of Roma children, the Minister of National Education announced in the interview for the Dziennik daily that new Roma classes would not be organised in the school year 2008/2009 starting in September; the Minister also said that the final dissolution of the existing Roma classes would be concluded within two years.
