On the evening of January 31st, 2010 a group had gathered for a birthday party in a cafe in Graz, when eight men with bomber jackets, military boots and T-Shirts with Neonazi signs walked greeting "Heil Hitler" and started to sing Nazi-hymns. The man, whose birthday was celebrated, asked them to stop singing. Thereupon the eight men attacked him, his friends and the waiter and beat them up. Some of the victims were very seriously injured.

In February 2011 the eight men were charged with assault and "Wiederbetätigung" (resurgence). The assailants are well-known members of the Neo-Nazi scene.  Two of the men had been members of the RFJ (Ring Freiheitlicher Jugend - Youth organisation of the Austrian Freedom Party) but had been excluded.
