SOS Racismo, a non-governmental organisation, has issued a report claiming that xenophobia has increased in Spain because of the Government’s handling of the economic crisis.

They criticise certain measures in particular, including the Voluntary Return Plan, where immigrants are encouraged to return to their countries of origin, and changes to the Foreigners’ Law.
SOS Racismo also criticises the attitude of some political parties including the PP and the CDC who are accused of institutional racism.
