“Home” connects people
The federal province of Styria has launched a project aiming at combating institutional racism by changing the connotation of the term „home.“ The project focuses on questions of how to overcome segregation, stereotypes and the pressure to assimilate on people who have migrated to Austria and aims at fostering inclusion and the creation of a new common definition of what “home” means. Trainings for multipliers active in the fields of education and social care aiming at transferring the underlying ideas to different target groups have started in October 2009.
