The number of persons belonging to minorities amounts to 253,273.

According to the last National Census of 2002 the number of persons belonging to minorities amounts to 253,273. Thus, members of minorities constitute 0.7% of all Polish citizens. It seems, however, the data are understated and actual percentage amounts to 2-3% [1].
The 2011 National Census of Population for the first time enabled the Poles to express complex national and ethnic identities by means of asking two questions concerning the two aspects. The outcome confirmed the fact that the homogenic population of Polish national identity of 36,157,000 is dominant (which makes 93,9% of the whole population in Poland). About 842,000 (2,19%) people have both Polish and another then Polish identity based on nationality and ethnics. The respondents declaring exclusively the non-Polish national or ethnic affiliation make the group of 562,000 (1,46%) people, of which 38,000 are the people identifying themselves with two non-Polish nationalities [2].

Unaccompanied minors inflow
In 2010 there were 19 unaccompanied minors in Orphanage and 231 unaccompanied minors seeking asylum.
Qualitative Info
Non-governmental organization Halina Nieć Legal Aid Centre shows data on two groups unaccompanied minors: children staying in placed in Orphanage and these claiming asylum. According the HNLAC, in 2010 there were 19 children in Orphanage and 231 asylum seekers. The number of unaccompanied minors claiming asylum may by overestimated, as it includes also children which were born in Poland, after their parents had asked asylum.

According to the data of the Ministry of Interior and Digitization, 3,528 pupils of Roma origin were supposed to attend schools in the school year 2010-2011, among which 2,985 fulfilled this obligation [2].
